The Beaujolais Nouveau is an annual French celebration of wine. Beaujolais is a wine region located in the Burgundy region in the French Alps. At the beginning, this type of wine was only consumed by the local population until 1951, when, thanks to a successful communication and marketing campaign, it became known worldwide. To make it even more special, the marketing of the last harvests was restricted to mid-November and it was called Beaujolais Nouveau. Today, on Beaujolais Nouveau Day, more than 65 million bottles of this wine are consumed.
Here are 3 interesting facts about this wine and its celebration:
- It is always celebrated on the third Thursday of November.
- All grapes from the Beaujolais region must be harvested by hand.
- The wine should be drunk at a temperature of 12.5 degrees, so that it is cooler and the fruity flavour is better perceived.
At Barnes Barcelona we decided to celebrate this event with some of our friends, clients and colleagues. In addition to the wine, we accompanied the event with great catering by Maison Aime. We also took the opportunity to present the new refurbishment of the agency.
